           Ghetto in Czortkow Ghetto was established in March 1942. There were about 6.8 thousand of Jews gathered inside its walls. Usually 3 Jewish families lived  in one flat .

On August 27th1942, Police Department with gandarmery and Ukrainian and Jewish police carried out the first deportation of Jews from Czortkow ghetto to the concentration camp in Belzec. On June 17th 1943 about 2 thousand Jews were shot. Then, for three days the Nazis were killing people who were trying to hide. In this way, further 500 people died. 63 people were sent to a labor camp in Hluboczek.
